Congratulations Sandy! "Since becoming a member of Body Busters I have been reminded of the importance of an active lifestyle for overall well-being." |
I have been a Body Busters member since August 2010. I initially joined for a month to see if I would even be able to do this. The first month was very challenging but with the encouragement of other members, who looked great and where long-time members I took the plunge and signed up for the full year. Sept 2011 rolled around and I did it again and signed up for another year! Joining Body Busters is one of the best things I’ve done for myself in a very long time!
What I really enjoy most about the program is that there is someone there to encourage and motivate me, as I really need this. Huy, our instructor ensures we are doing our exercises correctly so as not to have injuries and pushes us when he knows we are able to give more. I am really surprised by my own abilities, especially when you hear that little bit of encouragement to not give up, just hearing that makes you push ahead to give that extra and fight through to complete those “Last Ten”.
I am very happy with my results. I am much more toned and have seen a dramatic improvement in my overall strength, endurance and flexibility.
I have chosen to continue with Body Busters as I do work better with a schedule and having weekly scheduled classes’ keeps me committed, engaged and on track. I do my best to ensure I schedule my make up classes otherwise I feel guilty and disappointed that I didn’t get in my 2 weekly workouts. Becoming more active and physically fit has made a huge difference in my life. I am much more energetic, sleep better and am able to handle day to day stressful situations in a much more clear and constructive manner. Although I am hot, tired and sweaty at the end of each class, I still have that great feeling of accomplishment and that makes you want more. The different fitness levels of the individuals in our class is a benefit as well. It is great to have someone who is stronger than you in certain areas as this motivates me to continually push myself. It is also nice to encourage others that may not be at your level and to eventually see them succeed and celebrate their success with them. I do appreciate the encouragement, support and motivation I get from my instructor Huy. He is always available before or after class to discuss personal concerns with us or just give us some advice on how to build upon the progress we have seen so far.
In terms of my overall health, I feel stronger both mentally and physically. Not only do I see the results others have noticed as well. I have gained more confidence in myself, am more energetic and stronger than ever before. I am proud of what I have accomplished over the last 15 months. My health was starting to impact my ability to participate in some of those winter activities that I love, especially skiing. I can hardly wait to put on my skis to see the effect of these positive changes.
Since becoming a member of Body Busters I have been reminded of the importance of an active lifestyle for overall well-being and that you must take the time yourself to ensure this happens. I find I now have a more positive attitude to working out and getting into shape. At times it is difficult to drag my butt to class especially when I am not feeling 100%, but by the end of class I am sure glad I did. The motivation and support from both my instructor and my class members have made the difference for me as I am not always able to do this on my own and would definitely not push myself to the level that I do.
Thank you Body Busters for keeping me motivated and my body challenged with a variety of interesting and fun workouts.
| Congratulations Effie! "I've always been an active person but Body Buster took my exercise workouts to another level which I really am enjoying." |
I've been a member for six months. I originally thought I would join for one program only but I liked it so much I signed up for the rest of the summer and after the last outdoor program I signed up for the indoor program for the next six months.
There are three things I like most about the Body Buster Program. One is the great workout I get. Second are the other members who are fun, supportive and all working toward the same goals of a better fitness level and good health. Last and definitely not least our instructor Dani is amazing. She pushes us to work really hard but in a encouraging, engaging and fun way.
I have lost 12 pounds and approximately 15 inches.
I chose to continue with Body Buster because I want to maintain my fitness level. The program provides a convenient location, scheduled dates and times and a different workout every time.
I definitely feel better, leaner and stronger. At the same time I joined Body Buster I embarked on a vegan diet and I believe that both of those lifestyle choices helped me achieve the goals of losing weight, improving my overall health and challenging myself to do something that I wasn't sure I could do. I've always been an active person but Body Buster took my exercise workouts to another level which I really am enjoying. It also provides a good stress reliever after a busy day at work.
I've gained more intense workouts than I'm used to which was what my exercise workout needed. I developed new goals for myself that I never really thought about before I joined the program. I've met good people who are encouraging and inspiring. I found an instructor who has a great, warm spirit but still doesn't have a problem kicking our butts! I'm encouraged by other members who have been with Body Buster for a couple of years and look great and still feel sore after a Body Buster workout! I really appreciate the interest Dani takes in our goals and helping us by providing nutritional advice and information whether during class or through e-mail.
It's been a great experience and one that I plan to continue for a long time. I encourage anyone thinking about increasing their fitness level and improving their health to join Body Buster.

Congratulations Jessica! "I have lost the last 15 pounds of baby weight from my second child and enough inches that I am wearing smaller sizes than I have ever worn." |
I have been a body buster member since january 2011 though it feels like i've been doing it forever. which is a very good thing.
I love the results that body buster gives me. it is a lot of work, but it really pays off. i also find dani to be the most encouraging teacher i have come across, and a good teacher makes all the difference, not only in encouraging you to do it, but making you want to do it.
I have lost the last 15 pounds of baby weight from my second child and enough inches that i am wearing smaller sizes than i have ever worn.
It has become part of my life style. at first it was to lose the baby weight, then to get out of the house to clear my head, and now it is something i truly look forward to every week. it is a complete adrenaline rush that compares to no other workout i have ever done.
I feel fantastic. i have never been been a runner at any point in my life and now i have the desire to run whenever possible - with my kids, down the street, just to get to the car, in runners or heels, wherever!
I have gained a clearer mind and a lot more energy.
This has been a fantastic experience and continues to be every time i attend a class. i tell everyone i know that this is the best thing i have ever done. if you want to enjoy a workout, and enjoy your body, then body bust it. cheesy maybe, but totally true.

Congratulations Vicenta! "Before being a member of Body Buster, I didn’t really know what it was to push myself." |
How long have you been a Body Buster Fitness member?
I joined the program at the end of April 2011 and have been a Body Buster Fitness member for 3 months!
*What do you like most about the Body Buster Program?
There are tons of things that I love about the Body Buster program. The thing I love MOST is being challenged!! I hate going to the gym and can’t motivate myself to work out at home so I know when I come to class that I will be working VERY hard and taking on many challenges.
*How much weight/inches lost?
In the last 3 months, I have lost almost 15 pounds and tons of inches.
*Why have you chosen to continue with Body Buster?
I have chosen to continue with Body Buster because I have seen huge changes in my body (i.e. more toning) and love that I am getting faster and stronger. Also, I love the variety of each program and enjoy working out outdoors while meeting new people.
*How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
In spite of having asthma, I have seen great improvements in my cardiovascular abilities. I also have fewer food cravings and TONS of energy. I feel stronger and know that I can take on anything!
*What do you feel that you have gained from being a member of Body Buster and taking The Program?
Before being a member of Body Buster, I didn’t really know what it was to push myself, but thanks to my peers and instructors, I know I CAN push myself every time and there are NO limitations.
*Anything else you would like to add about your Body Buster experience?
I rave to everyone I know about working out with Body Buster. The instructors definitely kick butt and keep me on my toes!!! I love how much fun I have (except when doing the Dani famous burpee specials * ha ha*) and love feeling like a million dollars!!!
The experience has been challenging, but worthwhile with great mental and physical results. My body and mind crave the challenge and I know that it’s all up to ME and that I can push through it each time!!! Thanks to the great group at HP and Dani for challenging me to be the best I can be!

Congratulations Anita! "Body Buster is a great program because I am able to push my body to the max." |
I have been a Body Buster Fitness member for almost four months. Body Buster is a great program because I am able to push my body to the max. I had no idea just how far my body could push itself! My instructor, Dani, is dynamic! She has motivated and encouraged me to always do my best. The vibe from my fellow Body Buster members is contagious. I love being around these people who are all driven to exceed their expectations. I also love the variety of activities that Body Buster provides. There is NEVER a dull moment.
I have noticed a change in my physical appearance. My clothes fit better (some are feeling a little loose). Initially, losing weight was my goal. Now, it’s the cherry on top. My new goal is to continue to be healthy and active. I have chosen to continue with Body Buster because I think of it as a part of my life. I have fun and I get a sense of fulfillment when I complete each class.
I see how this program has materialized before my eyes. I have introduced some exercises (burpees and wall-sit, to name a few) into my grade 6 class at work. They love it! It also gets rid of a lot of excess energy the students have. I also see my own children wanting to learn some of “mommy’s moves” that I learned from Body Buster.
After becoming a Body Buster member, I feel stronger and my sleep is better. I feel that my posture has also improved. My husband has noted that I am less stressed after joining Body Buster. Dani has helped me with my nutrition. I have improved my eating habits which has helped me no longer feel sluggish by the end of the day.
I have also gained a sense of pride and confidence from being a member of Body Buster. I am proud to see how much I can challenge my body and how my body accepts the challenge each time. I am pleased that I have committed to this wonderful program that is going to help me be more active with my children and be a positive role model to them. In the past, I had joined many gyms and a variety of classes. I have NEVER felt as satisfied with an exercise program as I have with Body Buster.
Becoming a Body Buster Bootcamper has been one of the best decisions I have made. I want to thank everyone at Body Buster for their dedication to improving the lifestyle of all of its members. I am honored to be chosen “Bootcamper of the Program”.

Congratulations Jonnie! "Body Buster has given me the confidence to push past any of the limitations that I believed I had in the past." |
I've been a Body Buster Fitness member since October of 2010 and have attended class regularly ever since. I first signed up for a month, loved it! I then signed up for three months, got hooked! Now I'm doing a 6 program term and I don't know what I'd do without it!
My favourite aspect about Body Buster Fitness is that extra push from the instructors. Everyone gets those moments where they doubt they can move their muscles another inch and that the tank has run dry. With the "help" of the instructors I've been able to fight through it in a way that I was never able to before. Now when I hear "LAST TEN!" I put the burn aside and give everything, it's been amazing.
In my case I didn't attend Body Buster for weight loss. I wanted to tone up and feel healthier. It worked much better and faster than I had expected, I've gained around 10 pounds of muscle! My twig legs.. well they're not so twiggy anymore... thanks squat jumps!
Continuing with Body Buster Fitness is not something I debate at all, it's a must. This is a lifestyle, and it's exactly what I was looking for. I never want to miss a class, let alone an entire session.
The health benefits of Body Buster Fitness have been tremendous. I really enjoy pushing myself as a stress reliever after a tough work day. I've been feeling lighter on my feet as every class goes by. I'm stronger and more agile as well. In the past I was starting to feel winded when climbing stairs and now I'm running up them 2 at a time.
Body Buster has given me the confidence to push past any of the limitations that I believed I had in the past. I was my own worst enemy, not believing that I could do certain things and just getting in my own way. Now I'm look to better myself everyday. The amount of drive that I've gained from the program is incredible.. seems believing u can is a much bigger step than actually doing, once the former comes.. the latter is a piece of cake.
The instructors at Body Buster truly care that you're getting what you need out of the program. They're not just filling in time at their job. Sometimes you wish they hadn't seen you when you dropped your aching arms, or couldn't hold your squat.. but it's the fact that they did that helps to encourage you and keep you pushing on. A BIG thank you gos out to Lisa and Dani!.. the kickers of my butt.

Congratulations Doug! "My participation started with the first outdoor program of 2010 at the end of April. I have been in each 4 week program since then. " |
For me Body Buster works well because I just have to turn up and do my best at each exercise and do not have to think! Once I get there, the hard work is done by me.
I know the instructors have suitably designed the sessions to cover cardio, strength training and endurance. The exercise countdowns especially keep me going because no matter the pain, I know there are only 10 or 20 more to go ( or until Kara slips in another 10 after that!). I particularly like being outdoors in High Park which has been the majority of the sessions .
I have lost a net 9 lbs. I say 'net' because for sure I have lost more flab than that but have built some muscle as replacement.
I am continuing with Body Buster for all the reasons noted above and the fact that each session has some variation or new exercise so it never becomes routine. The sessions are each still a challenge and I see that I can still progress. The instructors take an interest in my personal progress and will provide individual tips or directions.
I feel that joining Body Buster has reversed what was a negative developing trend in my strength, fitness and weight as I got older each year . This was easily measured in my last annual physical and is evident in my overall energy on a daily basis.
The instructors keep the classes fun and there is a certain camaraderie in the group from being there at 6AM. The collective groan when another set of burpees is announced is testimony to the group spirit. There have been 3 instructors at different times over the year and all have been excellent to work with.
The flexibility to customize a schedule in each program to fit with vacations and my work travel commitments as they arise is great. I would recommend the Body Buster programs to anyone who wants to make a change like mine.

Congratulations Donovan & Melissa! "Even after a long day at work and we're tired and sitting on the couch would be really easy - we remind ourselves how great we feel after the class and that gets us up and out the door." |
We have been with BBF since April 2009 and are coming up on our second anniversary!
We love that each class is different - keeping it interesting, keeping our bodies challenged and our muscles guessing which is really important. But we probably love our instructor Kara most - her approach is the right mix of tough love and kick your butt encouragement. She really understands how to make us motivate ourselves.
I (Melissa) have gained weight but it's been in muscle.
I (Donovan) have also gained a little weight in muscle. My cardio is much closer to when I was younger and was playing soccer almost every day. Muscularly, bootcamp has made me the fittest I've ever been.
We've continued because of how it makes us feel. It's tough, sure, but we almost always come away from a class feeling better than we did going to it. It's a great combination of cardio and strength training and Kara always keeps us challenged. Even after a long day at work and we're tired and sitting on the couch would be really easy - we remind ourselves how great we feel after the class and that gets us up and out the door.
The program makes us feel great about our overall health and fitness because we know we are taking care of it. Having someone like Kara who knows just the right thing to say and when to say it to get people like us (the 'not' newbies) to push it a little harder keeps the program challenging. We feel stronger and happier and know that at the end of each class - we've pushed it by working out hard. We also sleep a little better. :)
It's an activity we do together - which is remarkable considering the differences between us. It's also a form of exercise that works really well for us as a couple. People of different fitness levels, ages and background can workout together and we love the program is designed to suite everyone. We've met a lot of great people in the last 2 years and we genuinely miss our Bootcamp mates when they miss a class. We just signed on for another full year - it's addictive and we highly recommend it!

Congratulations Margaret! "I have gained confidence in myself. I am proud of what I have achieved and happy that I am becoming a healthier person because of it." |
I cannot believe that almost two years have gone by since joining Body Buster. My first class was in April of 2009. My girlfriend and I decided we wanted to get into shape for the summer and had heard fantastic things about boot camp. I thought it was worth a shot because I dreaded going to the gym. We did an internet search and chose Body Buster because it was close to home. I’ve been hooked ever since.
There is so much that I love about the Body Buster Program. I have to start off with our fantastic instructor Kara. She keeps all of us motivated and encourages us to do our personal best in a safe, friendly environment. The classes she plans are engaging and fun. It is always a complete workout and I leave feeling that I have accomplished something. I also enjoy sharing the experience with my classmates. Seeing all the friendly faces each week and sharing the experience with them inspires me to try my best. It is nice to have others around to share a laugh with when you are in pain and who keep you motivated to push through it.
I’ve lost 13 pounds since joining Body Buster and have gone down three jean sizes. However, I don’t focus on what I’ve lost. I am most proud of the endurance and muscle strength that I am gaining!!
Body Buster has become a part of my lifestyle. I look forward to my Tuesday/Thursday workouts and the thought of not continuing doesn’t cross my mind.
My overall health has improved and it has rippled into all aspects of my life. Not only do I see the results but I feel much better about myself. I’m stronger, happier and more energetic!!!
This is going to sound cliché but I feel that I have gained a new me. Before Body Buster I despised running and wasn’t much for working out. I still remember struggling to complete the one kilometer run my first class (it wasn’t really a run but more of a walk/jog combination). I thought that I never would be able to run the full kilometer and envied the classmates that could. But with the motivation of my instructor and the inspiration of my classmates I finally did complete the run and I continue to improve. Now I enjoy running and sometimes catch myself doing it outside of class. But most importantly I have gained confidence in myself. I am proud of what I have achieved and happy that I am becoming a healthier person because of it.

Congratulations Sandra! "I'm 15lb. lighter and almost a couple of sizes smaller. It feels great! You make me feel great. My physical well-being contributes to my mental well-being and my own self worth. I truly believe that. And when you have that you have everything!" |
I joined Body Buster in June 2009 - it was right up the street, no excuse not to participate! And how crazy is working out at 6 a.m., in the dark, with the bugs, in the rain? Well count me in, oh, and I was turning 50, and I didn't want to "feel" old; for those who know me, I certainly don't act it!
No really, the big 5-0 was definitely the key motivating factor to stepping up my fitness regime. For me, Body Buster offers variety, fitness expertise, a little friendly competition - all the benefits of a personal trainer, but in a group setting. The people I share my workouts with are of all ages and fitness levels, and I get the most joy and fun out of watching us progress and triumph over our own personal challenges together.
I didn't really join the program to consciously lose weight or inches (great added benefit though), more so it was to add another aspect to fitness activities I participate in, and improve my enjoyment thereof. Body Buster really paid off though, after I injured myself falling down a flight of stairs a year ago; massive hematoma in the left gluteus muscles, that set in deep, eventually resulting in calcification within the muscle tissues and around the hip joint - yes, it hurt. And severely affected my workout agility, and flexibility. My physiotherapist said, if I hadn't been in the shape I was, or continued regardless of the injury to participate in the Body Buster program, I would have been far worse off, and for a longer period of time. So thank you everyone - with the injury behind me (ha, ha, literally), I stepped up the pace, and can proudly say, I'm 15lb. lighter and almost a couple of sizes smaller. It feels great! You make me feel great.
It is the realization of how vulnerable you are when injury (and age) can sideline ease of movement and enjoyment of everyday activity, that keeps me with Body Buster. I really want to make sure I can continue to participate in the hiking, canoeing, snowshoeing, skiing, mountain trekking, dancing and yoga I love so much.
My physical well-being contributes to my mental well-being and my own self worth. I truly believe that. And when you have that you have everything!
Stick with it fellow Boot Campers, at whatever level you want to participate in. Just get out there and do it, is all.

Congratulations Nana! "I have become much more flexible and agile, and it has encouraged me to make exercise part of my everyday life. I have increased energy, de -stresses me after a long day of work and has encouraged me to eat properly and respect my body" |
I have been a member since November 2008 almost 2 years!!
I love that every class is unique. Every class is an opportunity to try different variations of familiar exercises. I love the comradery of working with a group of people - it keeps it fun! Expect the unexpected is what I always think when going into class.
I don't know exactly how many inches I have lost since I joined body busters. I know that I am about 30 pounds lighter and have gone down four dress sizes. I just recently fit into my "skinny jeans" that were in the back of my closet - I love it!!
Body Buster has become part of my regular exercise routine. My week does not feel complete unless I do my classes. The feeling of accomplishment that I experience after every class is something I have never felt with any other exercise routine I have tried. I am proud of myself after every class that I completed it and now I can't live without it!!
I have never felt so strong physically. This feeling has traversed into my everyday life. I have become much more flexible and agile, and it has encouraged me to make exercise part of my everyday life. I have increased energy, de -stresses me after a long day of work and has encouraged me to eat properly and respect my body. I feel l have less limitations of what I can't do and approach everything in class with "I can do this" attitude.
Body Buster is a wonderful network of people with positive attitudes and encouragement. There is nothing like working out with a group of people that are trying to accomplish the same goals as you are. I feel like I am part of a team - that we in this together. I look forward to class, to seeing everyone and how far they have come and how hard they work. It pushes me to be the best that I can be.
Body Buster has been a life changing experience for me. I want to thank the Etobicoke South crew who rain or shine are out there with me, being so positive and keeping it fresh and fun. I just wanted to give a special shout out to my girl Kara who always pushes me to challenge myself, work harder, increase my intensity and "bring it" to every class. Mind over Body become my motto !! it has been a privilege to learn from you and be part of your class..thank you!!

Congratulations Lily! I am way more toned, I have more energy and I feel much stronger. It is now a lifestyle for me. |
I have been a member of Body Buster Fitness since March of 2009. I love the variety of workouts. It is never the same thing twice. The best part of going to these classes is that it forces you to work out areas that you would not be normally working out.
I am way more toned, I have more energy and I feel much stronger. It is now a lifestyle for me. I don't think about whether I will continue or should I continue. I can't imagine NOT going to Body Buster. I have arthritis and building strength is very important. I also feel way more confident in how I feel and look.
I have total faith in my instructor Kara and trust her knowledge and judgment with all aspects of my participating in this program. I have learned a lot about what sort of exercises work best together in order to get the most from it. I look forward to coming to my Monday and Wednesday night classes with Kara. She works us hard, but she does it in a positive way. Her infectious smile and positive approach keeps us all enthralled.
I actually dread the weeks off -- and count the days til the next class.
Body Buster would like to congratulate Lily on her accomplishments! Way to GO!

Congratulations Mary! "I have found that my strength, flexibility and endurance have improved considerably throughout the program." |
I have been a boot camper for over two years. What I like the most is the diversity of each class and, especially the outdoor classes. Never a boring moment.
To date I have lost about eight inches all around. And I have found that my strength, flexibility and endurance have improved considerably throughout the program. I have more energy (except immediately following class), and find that I push myself a bit more with each exercise.
My Body Buster class is a mix of young, old, men and women. We encourage each other and it's very motivating when I can do just as much or more than those much younger then me!
Healthwise, I have seen a decrease in BMI and improvement in cholesterol levels - that's what burpees do for us. And lower back pain has lessened!
Final thoughts?I am glad now that I was convinced to join a class because I now look forward to coming to Boot Camp....even ball night. Thank you, Kara and Dani! And I signed up for another year of Body Buster.

Congratulations Tatjana! "It has improved my body and physical strength in ways that I could never achieve before." |
I have been a Body Buster fitness member for about 10 months. I joined in October 2009.
I have lost about 15 lbs. since I started the program.
I have chosen to continue with boot camp because at this point, it would feel unnatural for me not to be in the program. I feel like I finally found something that works for me. It has improved my body and physical strength in ways that I could never achieve before.
What I like most about the program is the fact that each class is different and challenging. It is never boring. This really keeps me motivated. I also like how we work our entire bodies during each class and are encouraged to push ourselves beyond what we think we can do.
In terms of my overall health, I feel stronger and want to keep building on that. I definitely feel more energetic. I have made progress in terms of cardio and endurance. Most importantly, boot camp has enhanced my ability to recognize that hard work does pay off; and this positive learning has contributed to an overall healthy body and attitude.
I feel that I have gained a healthier lifestyle that includes eating right and making good choices. In addition, I have gained knowledge about what it really takes to see results. I have gained more of a balance in my life, one that includes taking time out for myself twice a week to focus on exercising and being with people who enjoy doing the same thing. Mostly, I have gained exposure to a way of working out that for once in my life, doesn’t feel like a chore or a hassle. Boot camp really is fun!
My overall positive experience is due to our amazing instructor, Dani and the rest of the High Park members who are truly awesome!

Congratulations Tricia! "Every program I attend I feel I can accomplish more than the program before." |
I saw the ads for BBF early in the spring of 2008. It took me a little time to build up the courage to join, but I did that September, and I am glad I did.
Every program I attend I feel I can accomplish more than the program before. I put much of that down to the incredible inspiration of my instructor. She provides me with the right balance of encouragement and toughness.
Before coming to BBF, for me being active meant going for a walk. Now I actually enjoy being physically active. By coming twice a week I am able to keep focused and seeing the positive results of the class keeps me coming back.
When I first started I had hip and back problems, now I rarely think about either. I would modify most of the exercises and struggled with the idea that I would ever be able to do a sit up. Now I feel stronger, have much more endurance and I am shocked by my ability to do a plank hold as well as the occasional sit up. I am constantly surprised by what I have been able to accomplish. While I still modify some exercises I always start off with the challenge and am happy to do so.
While it may not always be evident in the class, since becoming a member I believe that I have taken on a more positive attitude toward being physically active. Coming every week is not always easy and sometimes I have to force myself but I never regret it. I was always able to find an excuse not to go to the gym but since starting I have missed only two classes. I have found a commitment to attending that is directly related to the positive benefits that I receive by being a BBF member. I find it hard now to think of not coming to class on a regular basis. It is part of my routine and I hope will be so for a very long time. One of the things I did not expect from being a part of BBF is the support that comes from all of the other members. I am glad they are there to offer encouragement and support on those days when it is not so easy to be there.

Congratulations Tanya! "I think that Bootcamp is amazing." |
I have been a Body Buster Fitness member since February 2009. I attend classes three days a week.
I think that Bootcamp is amazing. I love the fact that each class is challenging and unique. I look forward to every single class and enjoy the group session and interaction with other members. For me, exercising with a group of enthusiastic people makes bootcamp more fun.
I have lost a significant amount of weight and inches. I've seen great results, I feel great and have received a lot of compliments.
I have chosen to continue with Bootcamp because it really works. It has become a part of my lifestyle. My overall health has improved dramatically. I feel stronger, I have better endurance and more flexibility. My instructor is a true professional. She is very knowledgeable and an amazing motivator. She is also very supportive and really cares about every single bootcamper. She challenges us to realize our potential. Personally, I am able to do things that I could never do before.
Overall, I feel great. Since I joined Bootcamp, I have become more physically active. My energy, my endurance and my strength levels have increased. Healthy living has become a way of life for me. I now focus on making healthy food choices, staying physically active and maintaining a healthy weight.
I have learned that this it is important to engage in regular physical activity in order to maintain a healthly lifestyle. Exercising in a group with an excellent trainer helped me to develop a routine and increased the number of hours I exercise per week. I believe that Bootcamp has strengthened my muscles, improved my cardiovascular system and honed my athletic skills while enabling me to lose weight.
"Work Hard, Have Fun, Be Well." It's a great motto to live by. I would like to thank the Body Buster Fitness Team for creating such a wonderful program.

Congratulations Michael! "I do feel fitter, with increased physical stamina." |
I’ve been a member of BBF for a year, having joined in March/09. I didn’t attend for the month of June due to vacation, and that was tough returning to BBF after a couple of weeks of over-indulging.
I like the structure of BBF. I know I don’t always have the willpower to physically exert myself past the tolerance level on my own. I appreciate that our instructor pushes us constantly to go one step further, but still allows for alternative exercises if needed. She does it with both humour and threats, so classes are never dull. The part of BBF that I like the most is that I’m in a class of “average” fitness levels – no one is leagues above the rest in endurance and skill. Thus, we can all suffer and benefit together.
I originally joined as a means of reducing stress and increasing my cardio and stamina. But as a bonus in the first six months, I lost 3 inches off my waist and 8 pounds, which made me feel a lot better and trimmer. My measurements have stabilized, which is fine for me, as I wasn’t aiming for a “body builder” image. I am sticking with BBF because there are still challenges physically and mentally. BBF is also a good social atmosphere, where some of us now have common grounds.
Sometimes I have more energy following the workouts, but that isn’t consistent. But I do feel fitter, with increased physical stamina and co-ordination – things I didn’t have 12 months ago. When I started at BBF, I could barely do some of the routines without tripping over my uncoordinated feet or tiring very quickly. And I think BBF has been better for my heart than taking baby aspirins to keep the blood moving, as recommended by my doctor for sedentary people over 50.
The biggest obstacle for me joining a fitness class was the fear of competition. Being a member of BBF helped me realize I’m not competing against others, or even against myself. Undoubtedly, there are BBF members who are much more physically fit. What I have gained personally from BBF is a comparison relative to myself 12 months or 6 months or even 1 month ago. I’m not competing -- just participating -- and getting as much as I can out of each program and each class. I’m not always successful, but the results are realistic.
I’d already adjusted my diet a few years ago to try to stabilize my energy all day long. With BBF, I’m not following a diet, but I’m certainly more conscious of what I consume. And since I’m not a dedicated exerciser on my own outside of class, my compromise has been to park 7 blocks away from my office downtown, forcing myself to have a brisk 12 minute walk every weekday morning and evening. BBF has had a positive influence on me!

Congratulations Heather! "Boot camp has made me motivated to take fitness to another level not only in class but outside as well." |
I became a Body Buster Fitness member in November 2009.
Bootcamp has become a very positive routine for me. I like the challenge I "have" to accept every time I walk into class. Boot camp has made me motivated to take fitness to another level not only in class but outside as well. Bootcamp is like an all around wellness program no matter what level of fitness you are at. The design of exercises is so unique that you are challenged EVERY minute of every class. The things I like most about bootcamp are the 1KM runs, the ball class and of course the water breaks.
I have lost 6 pounds, but the biggest result I am seeing is those hard to lose inches. I have lost 5 inches in my abdomen and a few inches in all other areas.
After I completed my first session with Body Buster Fitness there was no question in my mind that I had to sign up for a full year to give myself the ultimate challenge! The results I started to see had me hooked! I hadn't felt as good as I did in a long time. My instructor kept me motivated and engaged all the way through my first session. I wanted to continue with the program because class became a new support system to help me through my fitness challenges; it was exactly what I needed!
I feel stronger, healthier and more positive in my everyday living. I feel stronger, have better endurance, better flexibility and way more energy since joining Body Buster Fitness!
I have gained a new perspective on working out and getting into shape. I have learned amazing exercises and developed some great friendships. I have found a new passion for working out and I believe being healthier is more than just hitting the gym or taking a run. My lifestyle has changed because of this program and I look forward to every class each week. especially ball class!
If you are thinking about joining Body Buster Fitness, stop what you are doing right now and SIGN UP. It will be the best thing you did! If you are ready for a challenge and are looking for a way to lose those pounds or tighten up, Boot Camp is the only answer!!!!

I joined Body Busters in November 2009; I'm currently in my third session.
Better question: What do I like most about 6AM BOOTCAMP? I love getting my exercise finished and out of the way at the start of my day. I have a busy job and a busier home life in the evenings, so there's no excuse for me to miss class - I'm always home at 6am!
I've lost 12 lbs so far (progress halted over the holidays). I haven''t measured myself yet, but my clothes are definitely more comfortable to wear.
It's made a real difference in my life; I have a lot more energy throughout the day, I'm sleeping better and overall, I feel great. I've reached a point that I'm actually looking forward to each class - this is really something for ME to say - I went from NO exercise to WANTING to exercise in three months.
I definitely feel healthier than I have in a very long time. I'm approaching 50 and the day I truly realized it was a real wake-up call for me. I knew I needed to get into a regular regime of exercising to get healthier for myself and for my family. My mother died at age 60; she always battled with her weight, had type 2 diabetes and eventually died of pancreatic cancer. I wanted to make a difference in my health NOW so I didn't face the same issues in my future.
A new kind of commitment - I used to absolutely detest exercising and now I love it. I've joined gyms and other types of classes before with little luck, but this bootcamp has certainly changed my way of thinking about keeping my health a priority and top of mind. Sarah's a great instructor who is full of remarkable energy at 6am - she's certainly an inspiration!
If I could do this, anyone can.

"Body Buster has made me feel like myself again."
|
My hubby Andy and I originially started in October 2007 after seeing the BBF van in our neighbourhood community center. I gave it a break during my pregnancy and rejoined again in August of 2009, 3 months after the C-section!
It is a damn good workout. You can't feel like you slacked off that day if you went to bootcamp. I feel less guilty about indulging and if I haven't had a chance to get out and about, I don't worry because I know I'll be sweating that night anyway.
I fit my pre-pregnancy pants now! I lost about 5lbs and a gazillion inches. Didn't really keep track of those.
I want to keep buff to be able to lift my enormous son who is now 20lbs to wash his poopy bum with one hand while wrestling with him with the other. I also want to get back into my pre-wedding jeans. That probably means I have to start running the 1K with weights or something silly like that to make that happen!
It has made me feel like myself again. When you gain 30lbs, have your body torn open to produce another human being and stop exercising for a year, you just can't feel like you used to for some reason(!) Bootcamp gave me back me.
Being a Bootcamp member has given me both bragging rights as well as endorphins and a reduced butt size. Getting out every other night to test my willpower and muscle strength has also given me a welcome change of pace from the daily baby routine. It is fun and exhilirating for a temporary stay at home mom whose new best friend is a 7 month old who drools while looking cute.
I enjoy BodyBuster Bootcamp because of Kara's kind but steel like instruction. As well, there is a family feel of closeknit caring from Dani and Jamie. I was never so pleasantly surprised as when Andy (who does the morning class with Dani )brought home a tiny BodyBuster t-shirt gift for our newborn. Details like that matter, at least to me. The gang at BodyBuster are a caring and involved lot. Of course, it also doesn't hurt that BodyBuster keeps my hubby's bod smokin'. He's a beefcake, what can I say? Here's hoping to a long and fit partnership for our family and BodyBuster.

"Joining bootcamp is one of the best decisions I’ve made"
|
How long have you been a BBF member?
I started with Body Buster Fitness five months ago. I am very happy I joined and thankful that I came across the ad on the Etobicoke classified listings booklet.
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
I enjoy the variety of exercises and how each class is different. I feel like I have my own instructor! Kara is always prepared with a different programs for each class, she makes it fun and I love how she challenges us to give more. I was impressed how quickly she memorizes your name. My favourite things are that we get to workout outside, the group is small and you see the same members returning to the program so you make new friends.
How much weight/inches lost?
I wouldn’t be able to tell you exact inches and lbs. because I haven’t weighed or measured myself since I joined BBF. I have noticed a change in clothing size; I’ve gone down 3 dress sizes. Family, friends and colleagues have noticed that I’ve lost weight and they’re very complimentary.
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
I feel great! One big difference I’ve noticed is that I have more energy throughout the day. For the most part I’m in a better mood and find myself less cranky. I am more motivated and willing to start on new projects, my cardio has improved, I’m more conscientious about my food in-take, and I try to make the right choices of foods.
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking Bootcamp?
Joining bootcamp is one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while, this was the program I was looking for, for so long. I’ve tried joining several gyms and tried a variety of exercise tapes but neither gave me the results that I’ve seen in these 5 months I’ve been with BBF. The only reason why these didn’t work was because I could never motivate myself to go harder and keep going but with BBF I feel the support of the group and my Instructor. She makes it so fun and challenging! Because she’s so encouraging it makes it easier for me to push myself that little bit more every time. I’m more comfortable with my body now and how I feel in my clothes. In turn this has made me a much more confident person.

"I feel a lot better and have more energy than I had before attending bootcamp."
|
How long have you been a BBF member?
I have been a member of Body Buster Fitness since June 2009.
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
What at first attracted me to Body Buster was the outdoor setting. I had been a member of a gym for about 5 years and found it hard to keep myself motivated. I needed a change of scenery. I decided to enroll for 1 month at the High Park location as a trial period. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have enrolled every month since. I enjoy the group session and the interaction with other members which makes exercising more enjoyable. The outdoor setting also allows more variety in types of exercises which keeps the interest level up. The class has a great instructor, always encouraging and always with a smile on her face as she puts the group through our paces.
How much weight/inches lost?
Bootcamp provides a total body workout. I've only lost about 5 lbs from my weight but have noticed more definition in my arms and legs from the weight exercises and my lung capacity and endurance has increased from the cardio. I didn't have a lot of extra pounds to begin with but have lost a few inches around my waist which was one of my goals.
Why have you chosen to continue with BOOTCAMP?
I have made considerable progress over the last 2 1/2 months and plan to continue attending bootcamp to build on the progress I've made so far. The Bootcamp program fits perfectly with my goals of endurance, toning of the muscles and overall health. Add the bonus of being outdoors and you have a winning combination.
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
Physically I feel a lot better and have more energy than I had before attending bootcamp.
Anything else you would like to add?
I'd like to thank all the staff at Body Buster Fitness for creating interesting programs and making the experience an enjoyable one!.

"I feel so much better since starting boot camp." |
How long have you been a BBF member?
I joined BBF in September 2008 and have been attending 3 classes per week, except for the December session when I attended 2 times per week.
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
My favourite thing about boot camp is the variety of exercises we do during class. From the warm up, to the power walk/run, to strength training, to circuit training, to ball work, to the cool down, every minute is different and exciting - no boredom here! You never know what's coming next so it keeps both your body and mind challenged, focused on what you are doing and then looking forward to the next exercise.
How much weight/inches lost?
I have lost 30 pounds and have gone from a size 11/12 to a 4/6 thanks to BBF and healthy eating.
Why have you chosen to continue with BOOTCAMP?
I have chosen to continue with boot camp because it works! I love the feeling I get during class and at the end of each class I feel stronger and a have a more positive attitude. I try to push myself as hard as I can and I am amazed that I can do it!
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
I feel so much better since starting boot camp. I have never been a fitness buff despite joining several gyms and have never been able to find the "sport" for me. I was looking for something to help me get into better shape, lose weight and feel healthier, something that I could stick with to get the results I desired. When I first started I was little intimidated and I found it difficult to do all the exercises, but I have built myself up over the 9 months I have been attending and now I can even do some of the challenges. Boot camp has helped me physically to lose weight and get stronger and quicker. Even my balance has improved. Mentally I feel so much better about myself and I have the confidence to try new things. I never imagined that I could star jump on my ball, do a push up from my toes, do full sit ups or do squats while lifting a 5 lb. weight above my head, but now I can do all those things, plus more.
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking bootcamp?
Not only have I improved my fitness level and lost weight, I have also met some great people who I consider my friends. I didn't know anyone when I started in September, but now I look forward to seeing everyone and to meeting new people at the beginning of every session. We encourage each other to work harder. It is a great opportunity to meet people with the same goals and to work together towards them. Boot camp is hard work, but it's good hard work and fun! I have gained confidence to try different exercises and challenge myself to work hard.
Anything else you would like to add?
I cannot express enough gratitude to Kara for all she has done for me. She continually pushes the members to do "one more" and to "push yourself". Her mantras of "mind over body" and "it's all you" are motivating and encourage us to do better and work harder. She gives the members opportunities to discover that they can do things they never thought possible. Kara works hard to plan a program that will get results for the members. When Kara and Dani teach a class together it is just two times the fun! They are a dynamic duo and their positive attitudes, extensive knowledge of fitness and concern for the safety and well-being of all the members is appreciated. They are positive role models and they love to hear stories of sore hamstrings and glutes!!
It doesn't matter what fitness level you are at when you start. Body Buster Fitness is for everyone who has the desire to be more physically active and feel better. I never thought that at 48 years old I could improve my fitness level like I have over the past 9 months. I always made excuses for why I couldn't exercise, but BBF makes it fun and the results motivate me to continue. Kara says "you have to want it" and as long as you do, BBF is the answer!!

How long have you been a BBF member?
I joined Body Buster in July (6 sessions) after a recent job change and a new addition to my family provided an inflection point in my life.
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
Among other things, I am drawn to the measurable results. Monthly fit tests and measure-ups provide specific, measurable, motivating goals. In my case I've doubled, and in some cases tripled my fit test scores; I've taken over a minute off my 1km run; and I've lost over 20 inches from the seven 'bad' body measurements (my forearms have grown a half-inch).
Why have you chosen to continue with BOOTCAMP?
I believe regular fitness is an important component of life. For me, the things that make that more likely are: · Scheduled activity so that it's not up to me to decide when to go · Group based activity so I can feel like there are others that will hold me accountable · Variety to keep me interested and motivated The Body Buster organizers take care of point number one. My class peers are an excellent motivator for point number two and the Body Buster instructors have a seemingly endless bag of tricks to continually meet point number three. Feeling good gets to be addictive.
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
I think about 'overall health' quite a bit. For me it includes fitness, weight management, mental health, and energy among others. Body Buster has been a great tool for me to address the fitness component in a manageable, sustainable fashion. While the program obviously helps in the other areas as well, the biggest benefit to me is in building and maintaining that pillar of fitness. It's a solid foundation from which to improve and focus on those other areas while adding tools to do so. I feel better on those two workout days than I do on any other day of the week.
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking bootcamp?
I think I have gained a special kind of confidence since joining Body Buster. I've been quite surprised at times by the sustainability of the regimen week in and week out. I was ill for one test day and went to class feeling quite tired and poor, expecting my scores to reflect that. While my illness understandably hindered some of my fitness gains that day, my hard work the previous 3 ½ weeks still showed up on the measuring tape. That recurring success is very empowering. Feeling great on workout days helps me walk a little bit taller in the short term. But even on a bad day there is a quantifiable reward, measuring my efforts over a longer period, reminding me that better things are attainable and that I am on the right path to finding them.
Anything else you would like to add?
I had occasion to speak with the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company recently and one of the things he said really stuck with me – that with so many uncertainties in and around us, we really only have control over two things: Attitude and Commitment. Attitude is the first tool we use to interpret events in our lives whether those events are good or bad. It defines our initial perception and largely steers our decisions and actions. We own that tool and can make a conscious decision on what it looks like. Commitment is a promise, to ourselves and to those around us. In a hectic world where we often over-commit, and hence sometimes miss, it's a reminder that your promise to do something should have real meaning. Of the hundreds of little decisions we make every day, a big one is in that moment where we decide whether to exercise or not. We know we'll feel better if we do but that 'feel better' is ethereal and can seem so far away compared to the immediate good feeling of staying in bed or on the couch. Body Buster has proven to me again & again that 'feeling better' is very real and very attainable. That proof continually feeds the cycle of attitude and commitment, making both easier, and providing both with great rewards.

How long have you been a BBF member?
I have been a member since June 2008
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
The program offered is motivating, challenging, inspirational all within a supportive group environment all due in great measure to the exceptional instructors , initially Dani and presently Kara, who with their passion, dedication, drive and energy constantly motivate you and provide individual attention to make sure that you do the exercises properly and to push you that little bit that you would not normally do on your own. Both Dani and Kara keep the program exciting, challenging and fun and at the same time supporting everyone’s strengths and weaknesses
How much weight/inches lost?
Presently, I have lost over 26 inches!
Why have you chosen to continue with BOOTCAMP?
I love working outdoors it is refreshing and invigorating. This program has inspired me and motivated me with a number of challenges and every class is different to keep me coming for more.
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
Since joining Boot Camp I certainly have increased my overall fitness levels, thereby boosting my energy levels and strength levels .
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking bootcamp?
I was at first skeptical when I joined an exercise program named "Bootcamp". I envisioned that most of the members would be very much younger and fitness levels at a much higher level then myself, and therefore may not be able to keep up with the class exercises. At my first class, I noticed that there were members working at different levels of fitness and therefore felt less intimidated. After the first session, I realized that I had physically accomplished more than I ever imagined and that motivated me to enroll for a year. I was totally hooked on the exercise program with the varied exercises, motivation and seeing my levels of fitness improve and my athletic side renewed, I felt totally energized and invigorated. I would highly recommend this program for anyone seeking to rekindle their love for a fitness lifestyle.
Anything else you would like to add?
Bootcamp is a great way to keep fit and healthy. I am 64 years of age and was very skeptical, at first, when I joined the program. Was I mistaken or what!! I love the program. A truly enjoyable experience, I love the energy that Dani and Kara bring to the class each and every class and have the greatest admiration and respect for both Dani and Kari who have encouraged me, pushed me to challenge myself and have made every session fun and exciting that I cannot wait to attend the next session to get my “butt” kicked a little more!! My goal is to carry on with Bootcamp indefinitely as I am 100% addicted and look forward to my next session. I continue to get results and there is no better way to stay in shape. My advice to any older persons contemplating on joining a program “Bootcamp” is for you, if I can do it so can anybody and with the great instructors one can achieve any fitness level desired and much more.

How long have you been a BBF member?
I joined Body Buster fitness in October of 2007 for 3 days a week and haven't stopped going since!
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
I like the challenge that I experience every single time I go to one of the classes. Because each class is unique, I find that it always feels fresh and new AND I am still sore after each class! I love that it never gets easier and that I am always motivated to push myself. Also, there is a great group of people that are members that I look forward to seeing every class.
Have you lost inches or weight since beginning the program?
I have lost a total of 22lbs since January 2008! As for inches, I don't have my running total BUT I have gone down 3 dress sizes! The shape of my body has changed overall for the better. It's wonderful to look in the mirror and see a strong, fit body!
Why have you chosen to continue with BOOTCAMP?
Bootcamp has become a part of my lifestyle and a part of my routine. For me, this is a program that works because I continuously strive to improve my strength and endurance and I am a person that is goal oriented so it fits. Also, the BBF team is wonderful, fun and caring and that is very important to me.
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
I know that bootcamp has made me look healthier and most importantly feel healthier. My energy levels are higher and so are my endurance levels and that feels great and I also find that it is the best stress reliever for me out of anything else I have tried
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking bootcamp?
I have a gained a tremendous amount from bootcamp. My self confidence has improved because I have been able to do things I didn't think I could do. It has also improved because I look great! I wouldn't have thought that I would look better in my thirties than I did in my twenties! I have also gained a great support in my instructor. She has pushed me and motivated me in ways that I didn't think were possible and I like how much she genuinely cares.
Anything else you would like to add?
In closing, I would like to add that I am so happy that I called the BBF number that saw in late 2007! If I hadn't done that, I wouldn't have gone on this great journey to becoming a better person overall! Thank You!

Congratulations Martina!
"I never thought that exercise would have such an enormous effect on my overall sense of well-being."
|
How long have you been a BBF member?
I joined BBF in April 2009 and I attend classes three days a week.
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
BURPEES!!! Kidding. I like how the classes are structured. They are unbelievably well-organized, there is variety in each class and there are challenges in every exercise. Dani is a fantastic instructor and because she takes the time to get to know what your capabilities are, she never let’s you get away with not pushing yourself to your limits.
How much weight/inches lost?
I haven’t been measured since my first session but I have gone down two dress sizes and I’ve lost 15 pounds.
Why have you chosen to continue with BOOTCAMP?
I was very skeptical in the beginning but BOOTCAMP has exceeded all of my expectations. I’ve noticed a huge change, for the better, in my physical appearance and I love the way that BOOTCAMP makes me feel. There is no greater high than finishing a class and looking back on that hour and realizing what you just accomplished.
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
I never thought that exercise would have such an enormous effect on my overall sense of well-being. I sleep better and I think I am generally in a much more pleasant mood (for which my co-workers are grateful). I have more physical energy, my endurance and strength have increased and I have shaved almost 1 minute off of my 1km run. I am still sore after almost every class and I’m ok with that. I realize it’s not because I’m getting old, it’s because I’m getting fit!
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking Bootcamp?
Well it hasn’t been weight! To a large extent I have gained a healthier lifestyle. I’m much more conscious about what I eat because I don’t want all that hard work to go to waste. I used to think that exercise and eating healthy was a hard thing to do but when you see the physical results from making the right choices, it becomes a no-brainer.
Anything else you would like to add?
I have to thank BBF for allowing me the opportunity to buy several new wardrobes. The need for smaller clothes is a pleasant side effect of BOOTCAMP.

"I started seeing results almost immediately." |
How long have you been a BBF member?
I've been a member for about 10 months. I first enrolled in the fall of 2008.
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
Overall it's just a great fit. The location and time are both very convenient. But most importantly, it’s the intensity of the work out. I wouldn't be able to achieve that on my own.
How much weight/inches lost?
I'm down about 10 pounds, and am on track to shed an additional five. But the biggest improvement has been my cardio…I no longer get winded when I go up a flight of stairs. In fact, I now avoid elevators whenever possible.
Why have you chosen to continue with BOOTCAMP?
I started seeing results almost immediately. I've lost weight; I feel stronger and have more energy. Continuing was an easy decision.
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
Great. I haven't felt this good in years. I sleep better and my lower back problems have disappeared. Boot camp has also helped me transform my eating habits…I'm now much more careful with what and how much I eat.
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking bootcamp?
Initially I signed up to get into shape for hockey season. And it certainly helped – I didn't miss any games last year because of the typical, old-guy injuries like pulled muscles or a sore back. But now it’s more than just being about hockey. I feel great and I'm in better shape now than when I was in my twenties. Bring it on!

Congratulations Carol-Ann and Lyna!
These two bootcampers joined Body Buster together 10 months ago and are still going strong.
|
CAROL-ANN (Left)
How long have you been a BBF member?
I joined Body Buster in January 2007 with my friend Lyna. We have both attended all sessions since we have joined.
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
I feel terrific, both physically and mentally! During the 10 months of the program, I have yet to miss a class due to illness. My overall health has been great. I also have a history of knee problems that escalates from too much running. Since I've joined Body Buster, the strength in my knees has improved immensely! I am now gaining strength in muscles and areas that I never worked before. Working out on my own, I neglected many major muscle groups however; this program is designed to ensure that all areas are reinforced. Also, I tend to be a “stressed-out” workaholic. Through my commitment to working out regularly, my stress levels have diminished.
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking boot camp?
Discipline! It takes a lot of motivation and discipline to attend every class, especially at the end of the day when you are tired and don't feel like leaving the house. Joining with a friend really helps with the well-needed encouragement. Once you are at boot camp, it's never easy but at the end of the class you always feel rejuvenated and proud that you did it!! I've gained muscle, more upper body strength, and endurance. After only 4 months, I increased my running time for a distance of 5K by more than 4 minutes! All of this does not happen over night but even after one session there were noticeable differences. Even 10 months later, I am still continually improving myself. The instructor is very encouraging and really pushes you to challenge yourself and give that little bit extra you just didn't know you had!
Anything else you would like to add?
Body Buster Fitness has been an enjoyable addition to my lifestyle. Every class is different and you never know what to expect, which keeps it fun and interesting. It's the fastest hour of my week! If it wasn't for such an extraordinary instructor and a wonderful friend to workout with, I probably would not have lasted this long! I've also met great friends through the classes, which helps make all the hard work enjoyable! It's a terrific, healthy one-hour escape from the real world!
LYNA (Right)
How long have you been a BBF member?
I joined with my friend Carol Ann in Jan 2007 and haven't missed a session since although I have tried various Etobicoke locations.
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
Body Buster Bootcamp has not only contributed to more muscle definition but has boosted my energy and endurance levels as well which are very noticeable in everyday tasks. Often I find it difficult to motivate myself to get to class but joining with friend encourages dedication and envisioning the “after workout” feelings of invigoration keep me coming back for more. There have even been times when I was not feeling 100%, on the brink of a cold with symptoms of sore throat, headache etc but participating in the bootcamp classes alleviated these….perhaps attributed to the restful nights of sleep followed by a good workout. I have also noticed improvements in other aspects of my life including work where I have increased focus and energy the following day.
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking bootcamp?
Coining the saying “membership has it's benefits”, continued participation in bootcamp has many positive attributes transcending overall health, endurance and physical appearance results. Improvement of these categories has lead to increased confidence and participation has also fostered new friendships. The primary draw to bootcamp remains the diversity of exercises and challenges presented which motivates me to continuously improve, establish new goals and conquer them.
Anything else you would like to add?
Recognizing that bootcamp programs are currently a popular trend, I cannot express enough gratitude to Body Buster Bootcamp and their instructors for their motivation and continued support. We are all the keepers of achieving personal success however bootcamp provides you with the tools to stay dedicated, disciplined and strive for even greater goals. When you envision typical bootcamp classes I often think of unrelenting instructors that lack sensitivity, I am also not the type of person that takes well to people yelling at me and it is difficult for me to stay motivated. However Body Buster has changed all my initial perceptions through their customized and educated approach. Even though class sizes may approach 20 people at times, the instructors always remember your name (simple, I know, but important) and treat you as an individual, providing insights and modifications so that all members regardless of age, fitness levels and capabilities reach their goals. The instructors truly are motivated by the success of each individual creating an addictive and exciting energy. Special thanks to Dani whose knowledge, approachability, motivation and enthusiasm has me on the right path and leaves me wanting more.

How long have you been a BBF member?
I joined BootCamp in March 2008: We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary together! After 4 months, I decided to end my membership at a commercial gym, because the results at bootcamp were heavily outweighing those I was getting at the gym.
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
Each class is unique, and combines a great variety of exercises that constantly keeps my attention and keeps my body guessing as to what is coming next. Boredom is never an issue! I really enjoy the constant changes between cardio and strength. And of course, my two instructors are great! The energy in the class is always so supportive and motivating.
How much weight/inches lost?
Since joining bootcamp I have lost 50 pounds and my BMI has dropped 25%.
From March 08- Mar 09 I have lost a total of 40 inches! The biggest reductions being 9.5 inches off my waist , 8 inches gone from my hips and a happy farewell to 5 inches off each of my thighs!
These are results that I never thought were possible! Never before have I experienced such physical success in a work out regime.
Why have you chosen to continue with BOOTCAMP?
Body buster feels like extended family to me! – It is part of my weekly routine , and I look forward to each and every class. I look forward to the unexpected! Since each class is structured differently, I know that my body is going to get a great overall work out every class.
Fitness goals that I thought were never attainable became attainable! I now enjoy going outside for our run! At the beginning, I wasn't able to do more than a slow power walk!
Bootcamp has definitely improved my quality of life- I can now lift heavy groceries without huffing and puffing, and can take stairs without getting short of breath. I can keep up a quick and steady pace while walking out and about, whereas even a year ago, I had great difficulty doing such a simple task.
I look forward to beating my fitness test results at the end of each session, as it is a measurable tool of improvement!
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking bootcamp?
I have gained confidence in my own physical abilities as well as a profound respect for what exercise can really do for your body! Being a part of body buster has taught me all about physical discipline and hard, strenuous work. If you put 110% into every exercise, every class you will see results.
Dani is constantly challenging you physically and mentally to your own limits in order to keep those results coming!
Several sessions ago, she told me to “ Up my weights”. My first reaction was, no way! Now, I am using 8 lbs weights and can visibly see the difference in the definition in my arms.
Anything else you would like to add?
The phrase, “ no pain, no gain” rings true for bootcamp!
The gain that you experience makes it all worthwhile.
Thank you body buster for the incredible program and for the remarkable difference you have made in my life!

How long have you been a BBF member?
I joined BBF back in January 2008 and, except for taking February and August off, I've been to every session.
What do you like most about BOOTCAMP?
The best thing about BOOTCAMP is that each camp is different. Individual exercises may be repeated but, overall, each day has been a completely new set of challenges. I also really enjoy the friendships I've made since January and how we all support and encourage each other. It may be up to me to push myself but it makes it easier when everyone else is cheering you on!
Have you lost inches or weight since beginning the program?
Since January 2008, I have lost a total of 30 lbs. I have also lost an overall total of 25.25" - I can't believe how many inches I've lost! Most notable is that I've lost 6" off my hips and almost 7" off my abdomen - all those sit ups really do work!
Why have you chosen to continue with BOOTCAMP?
I have chosen to stay with BOOTCAMP because, for me, it works! I've seen great results, I've lost pounds and inches and I feel better than I have in years. BOOTCAMP also works for my schedule (and my family's schedule) which makes it easier for me to stay committed. Finally, BOOTCAMP is a great "stress releaser" for me and is preferable to the alternative - sitting on the couch eating snacking foods!
How has the program made you feel in terms of overall health?
I believe the program has helped me achieve overall better health. I know my strength, muscle tone and core strength are much improved. I've also made improvements to my cardio health (though I'm still not a big runner!). Being active, and being in better shape, has also helped me make better food choices too - I drink more water than I did previously and I will try and choose healthier foods for a snack/meal. Don't want to undo all the hard work I've already done!
What do you feel that you have gained from being a member and taking bootcamp?
I've gained many things during my time at BOOTCAMP. The first is obviously improved health and a better, stronger body. Tied in with that is improved self-esteem and self-image - though I still need to pinch myself sometimes because I can't believe I'm now a skinny woman! The friends I've made during my time at BOOTCAMP is another benefit to being a member - I really enjoy seeing the group twice a week and grabbing a quick catch up before and after class - and yes, I would include Dani and Kara in that group! I believe BOOTCAMP has also helped me set an example to my two children - I hope that, by seeing me take the time to schedule exercise into my life, they will grow up including exercise into their lives.
Anything else you would like to add?
I wanted to say again how much I enjoy BOOTCAMP and how beneficial I feel the classes have been to me personally. I feel fantastic, I can play with my kids (and not get winded), my strength has improved and I have lost too many dress sizes to count. I've received numerous compliments on my new look and I always attribute it to BOOTCAMP - it's very difficult for me to articulate the huge positive boost this has done for my self-esteem - I'm in total amazement how far I've come in 12 months. If you had told me last January the accomplishments I have made, I would never have believed you! BOOTCAMP has really reinforced for me that you CAN do anything you put your mind too!

Congratulations Susan! "The sessions have given me more motivation to be active." |
Body Buster Fitness named Susan BOOTCAMPER OF THE SESSION
I have been a Body Buster Fitness member since July 2008. A friend from work convinced me to join and we attended classes two days a week in High Park.
I have honestly not tracked inches or weight lost as my motivation was more about feeling better. Looking better would, I suspected, naturally flow from feeling better. Though initially exhausted and cursing my friend for talking me into such torture, at the end of July I felt lighter. I don't know if I actually was lighter, but I felt like I was and was determined to continue with the program. I was so enthusiastic with the program that I even talked two neighbors into joining. As they've come back for another session I suspect they've forgiven me for sharing the pain.
After getting my feet wet with the two day per week session I decided to go for broke and signed up for five days per week. As torturous as five days was, it pushed me to a whole new level of activity. I felt like my stamina was increasing, I was getting stronger, my cardio endurance gradually increasing. The Instructors yelling (nicely but firmly, of course) to run faster and squat lower helped me to get past the feeling at times that I was in over my head and should perhaps retreat back to my couch. Instructor’s line: "shut up body" comes to mind.
Bootcamp doesn't actually sound like it will be fun. It sounds like it will be grueling and it IS, but in a good way. The sessions have given me more motivation to be active. I mean, it takes some level of motivation to sign up in the first place, but without the instructors encouraging me to push myself beyond the limit of what I think or thought I could achieve, I would never have pushed myself that hard, EVER. Sharing the experience with others, laughing through the pain and swatting mosquitoes was a further reward for participation, though I could have done without the mosquitoes.
All of the people at Body Buster Fitness, from the instructors to the people in the office are just such a nice bunch. They are so pleasant and accommodating to deal with that it makes the class "torture" that much easier to take (lol). I would urge anyone hesitating to sign up for a session to go for it. There will be pain, but no regret!

"Ive lost a total of 16 inches since starting with boot camp" |
Why did you join Body Buster Fitness?
My sister Donna raved about how much she enjoyed Body Buster Fitness which is how I learned about boot camp. It was outdoors, designed to work at your own pace, focused and fun, and that the instructor was a great motivator. I was tired and frustrated with the increased size of my butt and my decreased motivation to get to the gym. Body Buster Fitness sounded like a good solution to get motivated and fit while being outside. And the fact that High Park was easy access to my home via subway was an added bonus.
What were your fitness goals for boot camp and did you meet them?
My goal when I joined Body Buster Fitness was to increase my cardio and decrease my butt. Although I knew I was uncoordinated, I realized how uncoordinated I was when I started boot camp. I remember my first fit test (horrors!). The inches have been coming off slow but sure and my coordination and cardio have both improved.
What do you feel that you have gained by doing the boot camp classes?
By continuing to sign up for boot camp classes Ive become more motivated to make better choices in everything that is health and fitness related. I never thought I’d be the girl who … did wall squats while waiting for the subway or butt crunches while taking the elevator, subscribed to a Women’s Health magazine and enjoyed reading it, would eat meal replacement bars and drink a protein shake (and actually like it) … needless to say Ive ‘changed’ a lot about my attitude to what it means to be fit and healthy. I even dragged my fitness bands out of the back of the closet and have them next to the couch for a few reps while Im watching television on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
What kind of results have you seen?
Ive lost a total of 16 inches since starting with boot camp with the largest total loss being my shoulders (5 ½”) and my hips (3 ¼”) . I have also dropped two bra sizes. My goal is to be down to 130 lbs and be an easy size 10 by June. By continuing to work out with Dani and her team I know Ill achieve my goal.
What other results have you noticed OTHER THAN inches lost?
Other than total inches lost Ive noticed a significant increase in my day-to-day cardio related activities. For example, I take the back exit at my subway station which translates to a lot of stairs. I can easily sprint up the stairs and not get winded. Every day I take those stairs I smile with pride at my increased cardio. Ive also reduced the amount of tension headaches.
Anything else you would like to add.
I recommend Body Buster Fitness to everyone who is not motivated to get to the gym but who knows in their heart of hearts that they need to take control of their overall fitness. I am proud of what Ive accomplished and look forward to boot camp – even if some of the moves and repetitions are still a challenge for me. I don’t like missing a class! If I can do it, anyone can do it.

"BodyBuster gives me the chance to really push |
Why did you join Body Buster Fitness?
I joined with 3 other friends – our kids are the same age and we were all interested in fitting more activity into our schedules. We all had different fitness goals, but we knew that if we joined together, we would encourage (pressure) each other to keep coming. We’re all still BodyBusters, maybe even ‘die hard’ ones!
What were your fitness goals for boot camp and did you meet them?
I wanted to drop some pounds and inches. More than that, I wanted to be healthier, run faster and feel stronger. Ive more than met my goals – Ive almost cracked 4 minutes on my 1 km run time!
What do you feel that you have gained by doing the boot camp classes?
I feel like Im setting a good example for my pre-school age daughter by making fitness part of my regular life. Now whenever she sees me in my running shoes she asks if Im going to exercise class.
What 3 areas of your body did you lose the most inches and how many inches did you lose in each of these areas?
Abdomen – 2.5 inches; Chest – 1.5 inches; Hips – 1.5 inches.
What other results have you noticed OTHER THAN inches lost?
Ive lost about 8 pounds, about a clothing size. Im much stronger – lifting groceries, doing house work are much easier. It’s a fabulous stress reliever and I feel like I concentrate better at work.
Anything else you would like to add.
BodyBuster gives me the chance to really push myself and see really amazing results. Ive been to lots of gyms and classes, and this class is a much more fun and encouraging environment.

"If I appear to be “glowing” it must be because of BootCamp" |
Why did you join Body Buster Fitness BOOTCAMP?
I had been eager to get back into shape, and I had read an article about the popularity of Boot Camps and, while interested, I was not intrigued enough to sign up for something not in close proximity.
And then, what to my wondrous eyes should appear, but an ad in the Etobicoke guardian for Body Buster Fitness with the camp taking place close to me! I simply could not resist.
What were your fitness goals for BOOTCAMP and were they met?
My fitness goals were general and targeted. Years ago having been an aerobics junkie, I knew that my cardio conditioning was currently non-existent. And not exercising anymore I wanted to tone all over. As for targeted, what woman isn’t keen to focus on their lower body, as I was? Were they met? Met and exceeded!
That’s why Ive turned into a “junkie”. I had used the term being a boot camp junkie, and I think it really does fit. I show up at each class eager for the punishment because I’ll be so pleased with the physical changes and the general sense of well-being.
How do you feel overall after taking Body Buster BOOTCAMP?
I feel so much better in terms of both physical fitness and health fitness. If I appear to be “glowing” it must be because of BootCamp, coz I sure ain’t pregnant!
Definition areas, arms and upper body, calves, bit in the abs. Still hoping for the legs of a rockette dancer; could that be why Ive signed up for BootCamp Month # 3?
I warn you, I maybe a lifer!!!

"Hips, Chest, Abdomen. After 3 sessions Ive lost 9.5 inches off all these areas." |
Why did you join Body Buster?
I joined Body Buster Fitness BOOTCAMP after a friend told me how awesome it was. It was time to get back into a fitness routine, as I hadn’t been doing very much for some time. I knew I needed to be motivated and Body Buster BOOTCAMP sounded like the motivation I needed.
What were your fitness goals for BOOTCAMP, and did you meet them?
I wanted to feel healthier and fit, to challenge myself to do something to get my physical self in shape and to get my mental fitness in line as well. This BOOTCAMP has helped me meet my goals, and to understand that exercise needs to part of life and not something you turn off and on as needed. I still find it hard to believe that I get up just after 5 a.m. three times a week to work out. But, what a great way to start the day. And there is nothing better than exercising outdoors, Can’t wait until spring.
What do you feel that you have gained by doing the Body Buster BOOTCAMP Classes?
Ive benefited both mentally and physically and class reinforces that anything worth doing is a challenge, and that challenge is pushing yourself to do things you didn't think you could do, but really can. Mind over body is so true. Im also happy about dropping a pant size and fitting back into lots of my old clothes. Ive also met some great people and had fun along the way, who would have thought so much sweating and groaning could be so much fun.
What other results have you noticed other than inches lost?
I feel great, much healthier, more energy, Lost about 10 pounds.

Even during the toughest of workouts (and boy do some get tough!!) John will always have a smile on his face and will be pushing past any limitations.

Congratulations Tracy |
Body Buster Fitness named Tracy S. BOOTCAMPER OF THE SESSION for June-July 2008
Tracy has been taking Body Buster classes since September 2007 and has been dedicated in her journey to a healthier body and life. A few months ago, Tracy decided to sign on for another YEAR membership and also increased her program from three to four days per week! Now THATS DEDICATION! She even has two little ones at home!
Tracy comes to class each day (at 6:00 am!!) with an eagerness to “get the job done” and with a very positive frame of mind. She works hard on every exercise and has increased her weights as well. Tracy has lost inches, and increased both her muscular and cardiovascular endurance significantly!
Way to go and keep up the GREAT work TRACY!
She truly lives by the Body Buster motto: “Work Hard, Have Fun, Be Well!”
Why did you join Body Buster Fitness?
I joined Body Buster Fitness as an alternative to a personal trainer or "regular gym" route.
What do you feel you have personally gained from taking this program?
In terms of gain, I feel healthier than I have in a long time from both a physical and mental perspective.
And Ive also gained a really great group of friends. So for those things, Im very thankful.
Anything else you would like to add?
In terms of results other than inches lost, I feel really good, especially mentally. I really look forward to working out now, and I feel great after class is over. Something that ALWAYS amazes me is the fact that each class is just as hard to get through as the last. Theres always something a little different or new. I find every class a challenge, and thats a good thing. If it were easy, that means its not working!

Congratulations Donna
Dona is real life proof that Bootcamp can really pay off when you "work hard & have fun" |
Congratulations
Following the four week Bootcamp, Donna lost 2.5 inches in her chest, and an inch around her waist. Her positive attitude and eager willingness to push herself to her limits has proven to be a great asset in reaching her fitness goals.
Why did you join Body Buster?
I joined Body Buster Fitness to kick start a long time commitment to exercise that I have been missing. Although I have had a gym membership, I have never really felt much excitement going. I felt bootmcap might be the right thing for me.
What do you feel that you have gained by doing the Body Buster BOOTCAMP Classes?
I do feel stronger and have a true desire to show up each day and commit to doing the poses/exercises correctly, making sure that my form is correct and I think I am getting there! I have more energy after a session. Although I am a high energy individual working 12 hour days, I still make it weekly and want to keep improving.
What other results have you noticed other than inches lost?
The strength in my arms is the foremost thing that I notice as I can carry more, easier. I feel stronger in my legs and I am happier and more relaxed in my work which is a great benefit even for a pretty positive, happy person that I began as.
